Shadow let out a fierce snarl, once similar to one that Romeo would utter. He didn't want anyone snarling at his mother. If anyone wanted to get to her they had to go through him first. Dandre just rolled his eyes and flopped down on to his side. A small cloud of dust rose up. Dandre had grown to be a considerable size, and was already larger than his mother.
The Alphess shrugged. She tried to hide it, but she harbored deep hatred for her uncle. Whenever she thought back to the day her pups had been killed his words came back to her. Her children were nothing but half-breed scum to him. Well, one day, maybe centuries away, her uncle would pay for what he did. She shoved this thought aside however, and smiled at Hemitite. "Well you're always welcome here." Her eyes suddenly lit up. "Oh! I have something to show you." She trusted Hemitite not to share this secret with his Alpha. Mystic flicked her tail and moved towards Juliet's den. It was timy for Hemmy to meet his new grandpups.

When Shadow's snarl replied, a terrified whimper replied, and the old wolf, pulled into an instantly submissive pose, slunk back, away from the kill. To him, the snarling was a threat, to surrender the meat. And Shadow sounded like a big, strong Blackshadow high-ranker. He wasn't about to mess with that. Turning right around, the sadly confused elder ran as much as he could into the woods, limping heavily, but not stopping.
Hemitite grinned, moving into the den. He could already smell the surprise. A part of him shivered in disgust, knowing they were half Bluesky. And that rivalry was stronger even than the one for Greenwood. To a Blackshadow, at least. But it was Juliet. He could not be offended by the idea of the tricky female finally giving in to family life.

Shadow sighed, guilt clawing at his heart. But he didn't bother going after him. Fhazier always came back eventually. The three brothers left the meat alone and instead started a came of wrestling between them. Dandre was winning the games more and more often, but Shadow managed to keep up with him. It was becoming more evident that strength wasn't Starblood's strong point, but it didn't seem to bother him.
Juliet was laying inside with her two bundles of joy. They had grown a bit, but not by much. Both pups were suckling at her belly, occasionally squeaking and moving a leg. She looked up at Hemitite and smiled, her tail thumping against the ground. "This is Rose, and this is is Bear." Simple names, but they fit. Her little daughter was just as beautiful as she was. And her son looked strong and healthy, and was already big for his age. No one knew it, but her daughter was named in memory of Bone. It wasn't his fault that he'd become what he did. So in honor of the old Bone she'd named her daughter what he used to call her: rose.
Her mother nuzzled her, her tail wagging. "Enjoy this time, Julie. They don't stay this tiny forever."

Hemitite grinned, amused. "Yeah, really. Soon they'll be climbing all over you, squeakin' and squealin' and makin' a big fuss over everything." He grinned, nudging Mystic as a hint. "Like I heard you were." He sat down and watched the two pups, curious. "So what about their father? You two as big of lovebirds as Myst and her boyo?"

His granddaughter simply smiled as she looked at her two pups. They were her children, so she knew without a doubt they'd be a pawful. As a pup she'd always managed to get into trouble. She never pulled anything like getting herself taken to the Blackshadow lands, but she'd done pretty much everything else. Face full of porqupine quils? Been there, done that. Sprayed by a skunk? Twice? She accomplished it. She had been the scourge of her parents. And, as she'd grown older, the desire of all the males within ten miles. "It won't be easy, I know it won't."
At the mention of their father, Juliet merely shrugged. Dirt hadn't fully forgiven her yet. Of course he hadn't. But that didn't mean they weren't on...ahem..friendly terms. She set her head on her paws. Rose let out a little squeak and started to crawl away from her mother. With a small smile, Juliet used her paw to push her daughter back towards her own belly. "She's my daughter alright..."
