Mud blinked up at the call of her name, and grinned widely at the sight of Juliet. She crawled up the bank and moved to nuzzle the other female happily, tail wagging. "Juliet! It's been so long..." She glanced over as Romeo came over with the juliet look-alike, and frowned softly. "Is that Bone's?" She sighed, before she glanced down and noticed the son. She blinked, taking in the sight for a moment before a full grin split her lips. "Well, then. Nevermind."

Juliet ducked her head, ears burning and smiling slightly. She nuzzled against Mudbath. The little male continued to squeak and wiggled a bit. Juliet dipped her head against and nuzzled him. "There, there. You just ate!" She looked at Mudbath, her eyes shining with concern. She was too thin, and the cut looked nasty. It made her almost afraid to ask about Dirtspatter. "How is he?" Almost.

Mud's smile fell and she let out a sigh. "I'll bring him out. You can judge for yourself." She slipped back inside the hole in the ditch. It took her some time before she came back out, leading a big brown bundle of tattered fur and bones. Dirt didn't look as sickly as Mud, but the scars across his eyes were far more infected than Mud's shoulder. He stumbled a lot, creeping very close to the ground, seeking any touch he could find. Mud glanced back up at Juliet, frowning. "Thanks to your mate, he won't even be able to see them anyway." She sighed, sitting down. Dirt flicked his ears, 'looking' up at his sister in confusion.

Juliet gasped, her ears flattening against her head. Guilt flooded through her. She eased forwards and nudged Dirt so that he could smell her, feel her, know she was there. "Dirt...oh, I'm so sorry." She knew that he couldn't even see his own children. But did that stop her from nudging the little Dirtspatter look-a-like towards him. "This is your son...yet to be named." Juliet looked at her father and her daughter. How odd. Her daughter and her son. She'd thought she'd never have pups of her own. "You have a daughter, too." Juliet sat down and licked her son again. The little pup seemed to have given up on getting some more milk, and seemed to be asleep. "The little boy...he looks just like you Dirt."

Dirt whimpered upon her touch, instantly pressing as close to her as he could get, trying to cherish her closeness. This may be the last time he could have this chance. When she spoke of his son, he wrenched back, ears perked, confused at first, before a slow smile crept across his maw and he leaned down slowly, siffing at the bundle below him. His tail wagged feircely, more and more with every word from Juliet. But after a moment, it dropped and he tilted his head back up at her. "...what about your mate?" He asked softly, ears back tight to his skull. "Is he mad?"

"He wanted me to kill him." Juliet said, sadness creeping into her voice and eyes. Bone wasn't the wolf she remembered. Mudbath had been right about that. The old Bone would have tried to do what Starfrost did: raise them as his own. The old Bone wouldn't have made such a horrible deal with Bleaknight. "Father is going to have Mother banish him." The she-wolf shook her head. Good riddance, she guessed. She didn't want such a wolf around her pups anyway. But...what would happen when Bleaknight didn't get the she-wolf he was promised?

Dirt tilted his head, still not accepting what this may indicate for him. "But don't you love him? More than me? Shouldn't you be... happy? At the idea of getting rid of all evidence of me?" He frowned, unsure. That's what the wolves he knew would do. He didn't understand why Juliet would want to keep pups that didn't belong to the male she truly loved.

"I...I...there was a time when I loved him." Juliet said, looking down at her pups. "But...that time has come and gone." It hurt to realize that she had fallen out of love with Bone. For two years she'd yearned and pined for him. Only to find that she wasn't the same she-wolf, and that he wasn't the same brute. They were both too different now.
"I love my pups, Dirt. And I'd never want to get rid of any reminders of you." She looked lovingly down at her son.

"But you don't love me." He stated, 'watching' her. "You seemed to make that pretty obvious." The words weren't meant to hurt, but they were his honest opinion. He figured she'd made her decision when she didn't go after him. She had decided to drop him for someone else. Permanently.

Juliet whimpered a bit, and her son let out another shrill shriek. The she-wolf nuzzled him a bit, and he was quieted. Juliet looked towards her daughter to make sure she was alright as well, before looking back at the pups' father. "I'm surprised you don't hate me." Juliet looked away. "But...I do love you Dirtspatter."

At the shriek, Dirt stumbled back, whimpering, startled by the noise. He slipped on the mud near the ditch and fell flat, whimpering softly. Romeo frowned over at Juliet, moving over to her. "We oughta get these two back to camp before anything else. They need serious healing." He glanced at Mudbath's shoulder as well, and she fidgetted, looking down at the ground, almost embarressed by her blunder.

Juliet moved forward into the ditch and began to help Dirtspatter up. Guilt was apparent on her face, and she wasn't looking at either him or Mudbath. The she-wolf nodded once to her father and glanced back at the Bluesky border. She'd intended to hide them there if Dirtspatter and Mudbath had been accepted back, but it was clear they hadn't. Her daughter was still at risk from Bleaknight, but they'd handle that later. Bone wouldn't dare go back to Blackshadow now, she knew. Perhaps they could keep the pups a secret?

Romeo led them back to the camp, keeping close to both the tattered wolves. Dirt constantly sought out the company of Juliet, leaning heavily against her, relying on her to guide him along without his sight. Mud limped at Romeo's side, frowning softly, deeply lost in thought. Romeo paused outside, glancing back at Juliet. "Juliet. When we exile Bone for what he's threatened to do, you will support that decision, correct?"

Juliet nodded briefly. She had her son in her jaws again, and couldn't really do much. She walked past her father and into the camp. Bone had already returned, and his eyes were narrowed at Mystic. When Juliet entered the camp he looked at Juliet, and let out a low growl. Juliet met his gaze.
Bone shook his head once and looked at Mystic. "Fine." With that he turned and took off towards the Packless Lands. He'd have to hide from old Bleaky now. It seemed Mystic had handled the banishment. She took one look at Dirtspatter and Mudbath before calling for Sol.
Magic padded up to his sister. "Take your pups and go rest, Juliet. You've put too much strain on yourself." His sister looked tired. It was only to be expected. She'd run off shortly after giving birth. A she-wolf could only withstand so much

Dirt whimpered, but let Juliet walk away from him, sitting down on the ground as Sol came over. The moment the healer was done, the newly healed Dirt raced after Juliet. He was disorientated at first, after not seeing for two months, but he stumbled stubbornly toward Juliet, whimpering softly. He still couldn't see her clearly, but he was insistant. He wanted to stay by his side.
Mud offered a gentle thanks to Sol before laying down weakly on the ground. She was too tired and exhausted to eat, even though she really should.
