Juliet had taken her brother's advice and started padding towards the den, both of her newborns in her mouth. She was a bit startled by Dirt, and she smiled. Well, as much as you could when you had your two children in your mouth. The she-wolf continued to pad towards her den. She curled up deep inside of it, at the warmest part. Juliet set her two children down and let them suckle. She smiled up at Dirt. "Come and meet your children, then..."

Dirt squeezed in, tail wagging. He moved to curl up behind her, resting his chin on her back to look down at his son and daughter. Personally, he was having problems comprehending anything. He had gone two months with his mind of the lovely Juliet, someone he had to force himself to accept he'd never have again. Now that she was back to him, now that he was safe and sound in her den at her home, with two pups that were all theirs... it would take some time before he adjusted back.

Juliet smiled and looked at her pups. It was odd to think of herself as a mother. She thought she'd be toying and flirting for the rest of eternity. Perhaps, she thought, settling down wouldn't be so bad. Juliet nuzzled against Dirtspatter. But what would they name them? Meh, oh well. That could be settled when she wasn't as tired. She set her head against Dirt and wagged her tail wearily. "They're so beautiful." she purred.

"Sleep." He whispered softly, gently moving to nudge her into laying down completely. "You're safe now." With these last words, he rested his own head against her flank, closing his eyes to sleep. This felt so right. More, even, than two months previous when they snuck away to slide into the shadows together.

Juliet let her eyes close, and she was soon asleep. The she-wolf felt warm, safe, and happy. Her pups eventually got their fill and curled up together against their mother. A happy little family, in their peaceful slumber.

In the morning, Dirt was outside, devouring the deer caught in the hunt days before. It was down to the bone, helped by Mud, who was sprawled nearby, licking blood from her paws and muzzle. Her shallow stomach was at least full, and she was content and satisfied, laying on her back with all four legs dangling in the air. Dirt was still gnawing almost fearsomely at a bone of the deer's leg, still starving and trying to fill his half-empty gut.

"Someone is still hungry." Dandre chuckled. He and Starblood padded up, side-by-side as usual. Dandre, with a great effort, pulled off one of the bones from the deer's injured leg. Its infection seem to have infected the very bone somewhat, because it was easy to break. The young wolf started on the marrow of the bone, while his brother sat by and watched. He wasn't very hungry, as Starblood had downed some of it last night.
"Is Julie awake yet, Dirt?" Starblood questioned.

The big male shook his head, crunching down on the bone to force it in half, getting to the marrow in the center. "She's still resting." He replied. Mud grinned, turning over onto her side.
"You should be resting, too, Brother. Me and the runt leader there'll go hunting. You'll have something to share with Juliet when we get back." She got to her paws, flicking her tail to Starblood in invitation. She'd heard of his hunting skills from her daughters. He could be useful to take with on a hunt.

Starblood chuckled and rose to his paws. "Brother, do you want to come?" He looked towards Dandre. It was only natural that he would invite his brother. Ever since they'd witnessed their siblings' murders, they'd been glued at the hip. There was a time when neither could bare to be apart from the other, and when their parents tried to keep them apart both of them would whimper and whine until brought back together.
Dandre shook his head. "I promised Shadow I'd show him around the territory. When the lazy lump of fur wakes up!" He said the last part a little loudly, his eyes on Shadow's den.
A low grunt was his only reply.

Mud smiled, moving to lick Starblood's forehead as she passed, flicking her tail under his chin playfully before racing off into the woods. "Perhaps we should just hunt a few rabbits. Unless you want to try for a deer?" She paused, glancing back at him with an amused look.

"Rabbits. I'm still sore from when that thing kicked me." Starblood nodded ot the remains of the deer. He suddenly slipped into the shadows, then remerged a little bit ahead of Mudbath. It seemed as if he could turn invisible sometimes. Starblood looked back at her and grinned.

The older female grinned, racing ahead to catch up with him, aiming to playfully nip his ear, tail wagging. It was this kind of personality that she'd once dreamed of in a mate. But long ago, she'd given up the idea of ever finding true love, so her mind didn't stray far back to dreams of the past before she raced off again, tail wagging.

Starblood laughed, then slipped into hunter mode. His nose went in the air, and he quickly headed towards a clump of bushes. At the last moment he swerved into the shadows and leapt into the bushes from behind. There was some rustling and growling. A few moments later, Starblood came out with two rabbits in his jaws and his tail wagging.

Mud smiled, eyes dancing at his successful catch. "This place is really fertile, huh? Prey practically leaps out at you." She paused, glancing over to the other side of the path, slowly stalking towards it and leaping in. There was utter silence, contrast to Starblood's catch, before she came back and dropped a single plump rabbit at his paws. "How many should we catch?"

Starblood dropped the two rabbits and nodded once. "It's a forgotten piece of Blackshadow territory. And our aunt Forest says it's pretty fertile there. But wolves haven't lived here in years." Meaning the prey didn't know a thing about how to avoid them. He thought about how hungry Dirt had seemed. But no one else seemed to have much of a stomach on them yet. "Enough for Dirt and Juliet, I suppose. And whatever you want to eat."
