((Third thread. WOOT.))
Mystic sat in the den she shared with her mate, waiting. Anyone could tell how excited she was. But no one in the pack could say as to why. Well, they would find out soon enough. The last time this had happened, you could have heard Romeo's happy cries from the Blackshadow dens. Mystic smiled. Her muscles were bunched up in anticipation. She just couldn't wait to deliver the news!
A teeny bit of movement in her belly distracted her for a moment. It always had managed to. Perhaps they were excited, as well? "There, there..." They must have heard her, because they were still. Mystic smiled and peered out the den. Where was he? She would go mad, if she didn't tell someone soon!

Romeo poked his head in, whimpering softly. "Myst?" He padded forward, before slowly sitting down, worried. Something about her smelled different. It wasn't just that she was excited. There was something... else. He knew that scent, but he just couldn't place it. What was going on. "M-Myst... is something wrong?"

Myst began to wag her tail. She nuzzled Romeo and shook her head. "No. Nothing's wrong." Happiness shone in her eyes. She set her head on her paws. The she-wolf was practically bursting to tell him. "Remember when Magic, Juliet, and Forest were born? And we said that one day we'd like to have another little?" Mystic's smiled at him. "What would you say if I told you that day was approaching quickly?" She felt movement in her belly again and licked her stomach to calm them. Had her excitement spread to her little ones?

Romeo grinned, tail wagging fast. "Then I'm glad I've made myself ready for it so I don't freak out like I did last time." He laughed, moving to lay close beside her, tail thumping the ground in pure happiness. Just because he was more calm now didn't mean he wasn't excited. He just couldn't wait to see those adorable little ones...

Mystic smiled as he lay down beside her. She licked his cheek and giggled. "For the record, I thought it was adorable when you freaked out." More movement came from her belly. Mystic chuckled as she licked her stomach. "I can already tell they will be full of energy. They haven't stopped moving around since noon." Happiness welled in her heart. A mother once more! Well, in truth, she'd never stopped being a mother even though her pups were grown for the most part. Forever yearlings, but grown. But it might be good to have a few new pups scampering around. Magic might yet get a brother after all!
"When do you think we should tell the others?" she asked. Last time, Romeo has succeeded in giving everything away when she first told him. But as he had a different, much calmer reaction this time they were free to announce it in the 'proper' manner. Her tail began to wag with excitement. She wished the pups would hurry up and be born. The she-wolf couldn't wait to see them.

He grinned. "Why not have them figure it out on their own? When you start showing it, we can sneak off on our own for a little bit, come back with the pups as a surprise." He reccomended, tail wagging at the thought. Everyone would be too happy to be angry with them at all, after all.
He knew the excitement of being a father, but he would never be half as happy as she was. He just knew the immense pride every time Magic brought in food for the pack, or when Juliet was acting so adorably mature, or when Juliet pulled one of those tricks that made the males drool. It comforted him to know they'd all be alright, in their own way. Just like the next batch would be.

Mystic chuckled. "That might not be a bad idea, actually. We don't get much time alone anymore, do we?" She thought the idea was nice. It would be a pleasant surprise for all. Myst wasn't likely to be missed, anyways. If she said anything, she wouldn't be permitted to hunt or patrol. None of the carrying females were. "I know they'll be just as wonderful as Magic, Juliet, and Forest." A happy purr arose in her throat. She could just see the two of them returning to the dens, a littler of little pups stumbling along in their wake.

Romeo smiled. "It'll be a nice escape. And it'll put me to work, since I'll be the one hunting for you." He winked, tail thwacking the ground again. He was much more relaxed than the last time this happened. It was pretty nice actually.

"Let's just hope the pups won't make me as hungry as last time." Mystic said, chuckling. She leaned against her mate, breathing in his scent and letting his fur brush against hers. "Else I might just run you to exhaustion."
Juliet poked her head in, then withdrew a bit. It was always weird for anyone to see their parents cuddling. "Whoops...sorry. I just wanted to know if either of you wanted to go hunting. A bunch of us are going." Younger wolves, most likely. Younger male wolves, since Juliet was going hunting. Their daughter knew how to drive 'em wild.

Romeo grinned up at his daughter, amused. "Nah. You go knock 'em dead, hun." He winked, knowing full well how insane the males got around his very lovable daughter. Really, she should just pick one and get it over with already. She was torturing them.

"Aww, alright." Juliet said. She knew she had them all on a leash. But none of them really...peaked her interest. It wasn't that they weren't sweet or smart or handsome. There was just no connection for her. She went down to the group and informed her brother they weren't coming. As she passed one of the males, she let her tail brush against his maw. She smiled at him, and a few of the others in the group shot him a dirty look.
"...I wonder if I could have gotten away with that." Mystic said, giggling. Porbably not, considering she was betrothed to Avalanche most of her life. Then right after she broke the engagement, she and Romeo became mates. Myst never had a chance to toy with the males. "Your daughter is driving them all insane. And it doesn't help that she's picky."

"I know." He chuckled. Personally, he didn't like the idea of having multiple choices. Mostly because his old pack completely ruined the concept for him. "She'll find someone someday. Someone that knows how to treat her right, but don't tread on her tail too much either." He chuckled, amused. He couldn't see a total kiss-up going with his daughter.

"He'll have to be a god. Very strong, very smart, and very handsome." Mystic replied, shaking her head and smiling. She watched as Juliet let out a small howl that signaled the hunt, then took off. Magic ran in front of her, the other males fought for positions beside her. "Do you think any of the little ones will have the opposite sex on a string?"

Romeo chuckled. "Most definetely. I mean, they will be yours." He glanced over at her. "And if you didn't have me or Avalanche, you'd have had all the males just drooling at your paws." He grinned, licking her cheek.

"Hm, perhaps." Mystic giggled and licked Romeo's cheek. She was just so happy! More little puppies. Their little puppies. Romeo was a marvelous father. Stern but playful. No one could still say she'd chosen poorly when it came to the matter of her mate. "But I'm happy I have you. Why do I need all the males drooling over me when I can have you?" Myst nipped at his ear playfully, her tail wagging. "I love you~"
