Sol gave a slow nod, although heavily reluctant now that it came down to it. But he had told Magic... he sighed and come closer, pacing up to Mystic. He couldn't help but see what Bleaknight would do to her if he had her, and gave a visible shudder, shrunken down a little more than he really should be. He tried to concentrate on Magic, and possitive things, things that would've give him nightmares. "Th-thank you, miss... very much..." He barely managed, avoiding looking at her.

Mystic's eyes flashed in a 'you're welcome.' She didn't seem to notice his strange behavior. Mystic's heart was overflowing with joy as she carried her son deeper into their territory-back towards his home.

Sol let out a sigh and moved to follow, tail tucked low. He wasn't really paying that much attention to where he was going, but he kept a swift pace, keeping the mother and son scent directly ahead of him. He imagined the two would want to get back as soon as possible, after all. While he was currently in vastly deep thought produced by too many years on too young a heart. He tried to pay attention to his surroundings, but he couldn't keep from tripping.
Ahead, a long, excited howl split the air as Romeo bounded up, tail wagging feircely. "Magic!" He half-sighed, half exclaimed, too overwhelmed with happiness at his son's return to quite manage the full yell. He quickly rushed forward to nuzzle his son, whimpering in pure joy.

Mystic smiled and set Magic down. The little pup yipped joyfully and licked his father's snout. His tail wagged so quickly it was nothing but a speedy little blur. Magic looked from his mother to his father, grinning at them both. Mystic nuzzled her son, then licked Romeo's snout. "It is a relief to have you both."
"Sol! Sol, this is my papa!" Magic looked towards the long-legged wolf. The little pup seemed to have forgotten that they were both born from the same pack, and of course were already remotely familiar with each other at least. Magic proudly as he introduced his father. The little pup was proud to be born to such a strong brute and a pretty she-wolf.
"Do you know where my father is, love?" Mystic licked Romeo's cheek lovingly. Magic's mood was infectious. "We need to speak about him..." Mystic nodded briefly to Sol. "Without him, I don't know what would have happened to our son. Greenwood is in his debt."

Romeo smiled softly at Mystic's lick, affectionettely returning it. When Sol was mentioned, the former Blackshadow looked up and immedietely brightened even more, tail wagging faster. "I do." He replied to Mystic's comment. "Magic wouldn't be here if not for this wolf. And neither would I." He added, eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Your father is at the dens."
Sol recovered his smile quickly at recognizing Romeo again. Even though he'd seen him at the border, they hadn't had a real chance to talk or anything. It was nice to see him again.

Mystic nodded once. She licked the top of Magic's head, then gave Romeo a brief nuzzle. She was just so happy! Mystic cast one last glance at her son before racing off to the dens at top speed-which was pretty fast for her.
Magic beamed at the sight of his mother's speed. He'd always hoped he would get her quick pace. His father said he would, since he was so much like his mother already. Magic nuzzled his father, his tail still wagging. "Are Juliet and Forest at the dens, too?"

Sol moved to race after Mystic, luckily a fast runner himself. His long legs and relatively short body allowed him that much. He tried to keep pace with her, both startled and amazed at her tremendous speed. "Mystic!" He called, hoping she wouldn't just run off. He wanted to talk to her on the way back. If she didn't mind, of course.
Romeo nodded, licking his son's muzzle. "They should be. I think the lesson's been learned, hasn't it? Not to run off?" His eyes danced in amusement as he started off at an easy lope. "Your mother will make it there before we do. Why don't you tell me what happened? I'm curious." Personally, he was terrified something might've happened to Magic over in the cursed territory. It wasn't like the odds were stacked against him or anything...

Mystic glanced back at him. Then she slowed her pace so that Sol could keep up more easily. "Yes sir?" Mystic smiled kindly at him. She was grateful to him for saving her son. Mystic leapt gracefully over a fallen log without breaking her pace. "What is it?"
Magic nodded earnestly. "Never again." Personally, Magic didn't want to be forced near the border for a long time. He loped beside his father, keeping up surprisingly well for a pup. Perhaps he would get his wish of his mother's speed. "Well...I killed a rabbit. And Sol told me about all sorts of stuff...immortality, giant cats and birds that died a long time ago, two-legs...did you know they don't mate for life, Papa?! And Sol took me to his den...then we played...then...this wolf came..." Magic shuddered. "And said Sol could go back with me." Magic left out the part where Bleaknight had spoken about his mother and his sisters. He didn't want to think about that now. What could he do to her here, anyways? This was Greenwood terf.

Sol's eyes couldn't help but light up when she slowed down and they managed to run beside each other. He gracefully leapt the log before turning to talk to her. "I would like to reccomend that you and your two daughters stay clear of the Blackshadow borders from now on. My brother has become interested in you, and he wants some Greenwood females among his rank." He frowned, ears drawing back, hoping she caught on to what his brother had so cruelly revealed only a part of to little Magic.
Romeo smiled softly as he listened in, purely amused by his son's rantings. But right up front, he grinned. "You caught a rabbit?" He repeated, tail wagging even more. "Well! Won't the pack be proud to have such an amazing hunter back on our side!" Fatherly pride welled in his chest; first he'd just been amazed Magic had survived. Now he was proud of his son for what he'd done. Immortality, giant cats and birds, two-legs... Romeo chuckled at the amusement of a pup over the things he'd been told. But his smile faded slowly as Magic's words got farther and farther apart. Worry filled his eyes as Romeo drew back his ears. "Was the wolf kindof reddish?" He asked, thinking only of Bleaknight's beta. Since the Alpha hiself would never let a pup off that easy when he knew he could get something out of it.

Mystic didn't break her stride. A small tremor of fear went down her spine. "Alright. I'll warn the other females to stay clear of the borders as well. Just in case." She smiled gratefully at Sol. "Thank you for the warning. I don't know what I would do if Forest or Juliet..." Mystic shook her head, as if to shake the thought itself away. "I can't thank you enough for helping my son. He's so...so...so full of life. And I'm his mother, of course..." What was that old saying? Ah, yes. The most dangerous place to be is between a mother and her children.
Magic swelled with pride at his father's words. But when the subject directed back to the Blackfog wolf, his mood began to rapidly decline again. "No. Black. And big as a bear with glowing red eyes." Magic shuddered.

Sol frowned softly, watching her, also uncomfortable over the subject. "I would've had much more reason to help your daughters than I did for Magic. If ever soemthing happens and he does get his paws on them, I will do everything in my powers to bring them back to you untouched." He swore, in case the situation ever came up. When the subject switched to Magic again, he regained his smile. "Yes, he's very excited over everything. He sure did appreciatte the stories I told him. Hopefully, he doesn't get in trouble again because of that energy."
Romeo frowned darkly, eyes glazing over, body tensing. "...Bleaknight let you go?" He asked quietly, now drastically worried. "He didn't... say anything? Maybe... something about a trade, or..." Romeo was honestly terrified. The day the huge black wolf just let someone go... it usually meant the complete destruction of the pack from which they came.

Mystic seemed a bit astonished by his promise. But he was right: Juliet and Forest would be in much more danger. She nodded. "I pray that you will never have to keep that promise." Her mood lightened. "Yes, Magic loves a good tale. As for his energy...I suppose he must get it from me. I ran off at his age, as well. Just not as far." Mystic could still remember the day she met Romeo. "I doubt he will ever wander again, after that ordeal...but that energy is what makes him so great. Magic will make this pack very proud one day, I'm sure." Mystic's chest swelled with pride.
Magic stopped running. His tail went between his legs and his ears flattened against his skull. His green eyes, so much like his mother's, began to brim with tears. "He...he said he wanted...he wanted Mama...or Juliet...or Forest...for...for pups, or something!" Magic was crying openly now. He didn't want to lose anyone in his family to Bleaknight. He looked at his father pleadingly. "You won't let him, will you Papa? Don't let him have them! HE'S AWFUL! He's not even a wolf! He's...he's..." What word could describe such a beast? Someone so menacing, with such an evil aura? "...he's like a...a...a TWO-LEG!" M

Sol smiled softly, tail wagging gently. "You're a wonderful mother. Your pack is lucky to have someone as sweet as you." He looked ahead, noticing the den closeby. "Is this it?" He paused, ever so graceful in every move he made.
Romeo sighed, ducking his head to the side. "I know." He replied, almost coldly. "Trust me, I know. But don't worry. He'll never get Mystic, and he'll never get Forest or Juliet either." He gave his son a gentle nuzzle, still calm. "He will try, though. And that's why you and I have to keep guard that border, to make sure he doesn't. Think you can help me do that?" He smiled softly, trying to get his son's mind off what he'd heard. With luck, he might just forget completely.

Mystic smile flickered. She still felt guilty for not playing with Magic when he'd asked, avoiding the crisis completely. "Thank you." She nodded without glancing ahead and slowed to a trot as they got closer. "Juliet! Forestheart!" She looked around for her daugthers. They came scrambling out of the den, looking hopeful. Juliet favored Romeo in appearance and build, while Forestheart, often lovingly referred to as Forest, seemed like a perfect blend of each of her parent's strongest qualities. Her mother's beauty, her father's stable build. The two nuzzled their mother in greeting, then looked curiously at Sol.
"I thought you said you heard Magic." Juliet was clearly disappointed.
Mystic smiled. "I did. He and your father will be along shortly. This is Sol-he saved your brother's life." She looked around. "Now, where is your grandfather?"
Magic was reluctant to go back to the border, but he would if it meant that his mother and sisters remained safe in Greenwood territory. "I will, Papa." He licked his father's snout, his tail wagging slightly.

Sol ducked his head, ears back, crouching back, almost hiding behind Mystic, scared of the pup's bitter disappointment. And as the grandfather of the pups approached, he shrank even lower.
Starfrost paced forward proudly, having aged much in the past years. He'd attempted to babysit while his daughter and her mate went to retreive their son, and his coat was dusty from the work. He smiled warmly at his daughter as she approached, then glanced questioningly at the tall golden wolf hiding behind her, surprisingly oly able to see the very tips of his long ears - Sol was amazing at hiding. But the Alpha shook it off and turned to look at Mystic. "How is Magic? Is he alright?"
Romeo smiled, licking Magic's forehead in return. "And to be honest, Magic, it's not Bleaknight we need really worry about. He never does the dirty work himself. No, it's Hemitite we need to watch out for." He frowned softly. "He was there when you were taken, wasn't he? You'd remember if you saw him again?" Personally, Romeo wished his son never had to see the green-sheened French wolf again, but if it meant keeping the rest of the family from danger, they'd probably encounter him on the border some time or another.
