"Whatever you say, honey." Donovan said, licking the top of her head. It was his good night ritual to her. Brief and to the point. He set his head back on his paws and closed his eyes. There was something he would have to do tomorrow. Donovan wanted to at least make sure his pups were taken care of.

Once she thought he might be asleep, she slowly, silently slipped away from him, watching him. She was going to try and sneak out to Mystic. If she ran all night, and was quick, she could be back by the morning. She would be exhausted, but she was scared for her daughter. No longer could she just glance over and see her sleeping soundly in the corner, curled around her mate. And Sun was scared for poor Mystic. What must it be like...?

Donovan rose to his paws upon feeling his mate stir. He followed after her, into the night. It was hard for Sun, he knew. Suddenly her precious daughter wasn't right at her side. Yet he would not stop her. This was his chance to see his own pups.

She didn't notice him as she trekked forward back to her daughter's packlands, speeding up as she got closer, tail wagging more. She missed her daughter so much. Even after being away such a short amount of time. Finally, she crossed the border and howled for her daughter, whimpering some with it. She'd do anything to stay here.

Donovan followed silently, always keeping far behind her, but close enough so that he could see her distant outline.
It took a little bit for Sunstorm's daughter to get there. Or, she could have been there a while. Waiting in the shadows until Mystic was sure who it was. After a few long minutes, Mystic's pelt flashed in the moonlight and she stepped out of the shadows. The she-wolf had been practically invisible! Mystic's eyes looked tired, but she was whimpering happily. "Welcome back, Mother."

"Hello, sweetheart." She smiled softly. "I know I was just here, but it's so hard to wake up and not be able to see you from across the den." She nuzzled her daughter, tail wagging. "But you look tired. I'll head back with you. Maybe I can keepeye and ear on those pups, so you don't have quite a pawful!" She laughed, eyes dancing. Even with six of her pups gone, she knew the half-blood pack had more pups than they could probably handle all on their own - considering Mystic was the most experianced mother, and even she had very few litters in her life. They could probably use the extra pup-sitter.

Mystic smiled and wagged her tail. She missed her mother just as much as her mother missed her. She nuzzled Sunstorm in return. "They're all adapting nicely. Juliet and our...guest have been watching after them." All the same, they would be greatful for the extra pupsitter. Mystic was pretty sure her daughter, though she loved pups, was worn out from watching them. The she-wolf turned and began to lead her mother back to the dens. "I don't know what we're going to do when Dart and Mali have pups. Spirits help us if they have a large litter!" Mystic giggled. Had the she-wolf been more awake, she probably would have scented Donovan right off the bat. But, she did not.
Donovan let out a small sigh of relief. All of his pups were fine. That was all he wanted to know. The Alpha turned back and began to head back to Greenwood. One of the Alphas had to be there one the pack woke up.

Sun turned to follow her daughter back, but paused. She glanced behind her, finally noticing her mate. She frowned softly, actually a little saddened. Maybe, if he could follow her into these lands, he would reconsider the exile. Maybe let these mere pups back into the pack. She was going to have a talk with him about it later, for sure. She sighed, shaking her head and turned to follow after Mystic. "Large litter, better chances. You and I have both seen how easily those pups can die." She made sure to mention this only after Donovan was out of ear-shot. She'd tell him eventually. Even if she hated him, he had the right to know.
(I forget if she'd already told him or not. xD;)

((I don't think she did. XD))
"True." Mystic said with a sigh. "Before Dandre and Starblood went to sleep, I noticed how big they've gotten! It won't be long before they're off on their first hunt!" Her two little boys were growing so fast! They were beginning to ask more questions as well. About battle, about hunting, about everything. Mystic knew they were growing up. She shook her head. The she-wolf jumped into the shadows on instinct. The entire pack seemed to have started disappearing into the shadows of their dark forest. Her fur glinted briefly in the moonlight, giving some hint as to where she was. "They'll be happy to see you again. I think they both still miss living in Greenwood." The older members of the pack had moved on, knowing there was no hope in ever being allowed back. But Dandre and Starblood were still ever hopeful.

(Hmm... oops. xDD Well, darn.)
She laughed, eyes dancing in amusement. "It'll be interesting to see those two trying to hunt down a big buck." She purred, following after her daughter. "But you know... I do want to talk to Donovan about letting you and your family back in. There has to be some way to pursuade him. And even if I can't, I'm still Alpha. I can bring you back myself." Hopefully...

"But who else will support your decision to let us in? Avalanche, maybe. The others?" Mystic couldn't help but let the venom creep into her voice. The very wolves she'd grown up with! All of them had cast her and her kin into the unknown without a moment's hesitation. None of them stopped to think about what could happen to them! If it weren't for Hemitite, they never would have found this place. "I'm not sure very many of us want to go back. I miss you and the place I grew up, of course. But I don't want to live in a pack where there is always a chance I or my kin could be cast out without any questions asked." The she-wolf shook her head and snorted in disgust. Yes, Mystic missed her mother dearly. But all of the other wolves? They could burn alive for all she cared.
"I know for a fact that Juliet won't go back." Mystic said, sighing and returning to her usual self. "She was so angry that they'd let us starve to death just because of who my father was." And she was still angry. Let a hostile Greenwood wander into their territory and watch what would happen to them.

Sun watched her daughter, eventually letting out a sigh of defeat. "I'm still the Alpha." He reminded her softly. "I can talk to the pack, over time. What they did was wrong, Myst, but if the time comes, in the future, when we need you back... would you return the favor and let your once-packmates starve?" She watched the Alpha of the mixed pack calmly, relaxed. "I know it hurts, but... if I'd let what Hemitite did get to me, you would never have been born." She gave her daughter a loving nuzzle. "Maybe there's a middle ground we can come to."

"I would never let you starve!" Mystic protested. She did not wish to be enemies with the Greenwoods. Rather, she wished to be left alone by them. Just as she wanted the Blackshadow and Bluesky to leave them be as well. " don't want my pack to go to war with Greenwood. Far from it. If the time came and you needed our help, or vice verse, we would certainly be able to reach an understand." Mystic nuzzled against her mother. They were nearing the dens now. Suddenly another wolf burst from the shadows, his tail wagging.
"Ah, so it was Grandmother!" Magic said, nuzzling against Sunstorm. He whimpered happily. How he missed his grandmother! Sometimes he wished he could go back to the days when he was a pup and could lay in the sun with his sisters and his grandparents.

Sun smiled warmly at her grandson, nuzzling him gently. "There's my little Grandson..." She purred, before drawing back close to Mystic. She didn't offer any reply to the words she spoke. Not now that Magic was here. She didn't doubt his maturity - he had his own pups, after all! But she did worry for how he would take the idea of returning to GreenWood.

"I'm hardly little anymore." Magic protested playfully. He wagged his tail and began to lead them back towards the dens. Mystic followed after, keeping a steady pace so her mother could keep up.
"You'll always be my hyperactive little pup, Magic." Mystic purred. She could still remember the day Magic and his sisters were born. They'd all been so tiny and helpless! Now they were grown, one of them with pups of his own. Mystic was wondering if Forest would ever have pups with Sol. She'd talked to her daughter a few times on the subject. Forest seemed scared to have and raise pups in Blackshadow. No one dared to mess with her due to her mate, but she couldn't help but fear for any pups she might have.
