The two females danced around every obsticle easily, adapting almost as easily as their nephews, at much less time. Abruptly, in a spurt of playfulness, the other four raced forward to catch up with their two brothers, ignoring Juliet's warning. One in particular, the smallest besides the girl runt, sped onward out of sight, laughing. Careless.

Juliet let out a small growl. Not threatening, just frustrated. Hopefully if and when she found a mate and had a litter, it wouldn't be this big. She'd have to pawn a few off to her mother just to keep track of them all. "Unless you all want to turn back, you'll stay with me!" Juliet picked up her pace so that the pups that had raced forward could hear her perfectly. Dandre and Starblood winced. Juliet could be very kind and playful. But you better obey her. Both pups had taken care to stay at her side.

The two girls made sure to stay by Juliet's side, the shier one frowning at her tone. It was the kind of tone she'd heard from her parents pretty much every time they had any kind of contact with each other. But abruptly, her thoughts were changed as a terrified squeal split the air. Oh, dear.

Juliet's heart beack quicked. She took off running down the path, practically bounding after the pups. Starblood and Dandre quickened their pace as well, eyes wide. Starblood pulled away from his brother and started bounding after his older sister. Please let them have tripped or...or something! Anything but falling into the river!

The silver and black pup came running back to meet her, shaking. "H-help! Brother... he fell in! I dunno what to do!" He whimpered, shrunken down into a tiny ball on the ground. His eyes were full of tears, regret, and a complete sense of loss. He really didn't know what to do. His brother might be dying, and he couldn't do anything.

Juliet let out a yelp that was drowned down over the roar of the rapids. She raced past the pup and leapt straight into the river in hopes of rescuing the pup. Starblood and Dandre went to the edge, eyes wide. Even they, older and bigger as they were, would be dead in minutes should they fall in! What would happen to the little pup?

The silver and gold male, dominant as he'd been before, was now squealing down the river. And four of the other pups were gone as well. The shy female cuddled against Dandre, terrified, and her stronger sister kept close to Star, whimpering now. The silver and black male stood, devastated, staring after his brother and his potential hero.

Juliet swam down the river, trying to keep her head up and in control. The current pushed her towards the pups. If one of them could try to grab something! A rock, a low-hanging branch, something to keep them stationary of just a moment! Juliet found the could water sapping her own energy and she had to grab hold of a slippery wet rock and catch her breath. Then, gritting her teeth in determination, continued swimming afetr the pups.
"There, there..." Starblood licked the other male, trying to be comforting. But his heart was pounding and his eyes remained on Juliet and the pups. Dandre stood beside him, whimpering.

The big male finally managed to grab onto a log sticking out of the water, but had no strength to climb onto it. He lost consciousness right there, but still managed to keep a hold of that log. Plagued by the sound of his siblings' screams cut off abruptly as the water took them. The big silver and gold male, seeming so much smaller now with the water sticking his fur to his shivering, suddenly fragile frame. Breathing barely, almost not at all...

Juliet allowed the fast-paced current to carry her towards the pup, grimacing as the other pups were silence by the roar of the falls. Juliet couldn't save them. She could only try and rescue the male from the water's grip. Juliet wrapped her forelegs around the log as she approached it, panting. She aimed to grab the pup in her jaws. The water was sapping her own strength, carrying it downstream on freezing cold waters. Juliet had to get them both out. Fast.

Abruptly, a strong pair of jaws aimed to clamp onto her scruff, dragging her to the shore with incredible strength. Whoever it was had dark brown fur, and didn't smell anything like her pack at all. But whoever it was had a lot of muscle, and carried her and the big pup to shore with ease, gently setting them down safely on the shores. "Be careful." A soft voice sighed. "Those rapids can kill."

((Enter Prince Charming...))
Juliet, once she was sure they were safely on land, released her hold on the pup. For the moment she forgot about the wolf that had, apparently, saved them. Instead she turned her attentions to her young uncle and began licking him over and over. Was he breathing? Please, let him be breathing!
Starblood was staring at the rapids still, trembling. Four pups...four pups swept away just like that. Dandre, however, had his attention on the living pup and their sister. And their rescuer.

With a few pathetic coughs, the big pup looked weakly up at her, whimpering softly. "Im sorry..." He whimpered, licking her gently back. But abruptly, he glanced up at the figure standing behind his older neice. His ears drew back and he shrunk low to the ground.
The figure was a large brown-tinted male, with mud-splattered patterns across his backside, up to his mid-back. He was a beautiful mud-like color, with chocolate-colored eyes. He sat down nearby, curling his tail over his paws, watching Juliet and what he assumed was her pup worriedly.
(I was gonna say Bachelor number one, but same dif. xDD)

Juliet pulled the pup close. "Oh, your mother's going to murder me...oh no...oh no..." She looked at the rapids, still not paying much attention to her rescuer. It was a bad idea. A horrible idea...Juliet felt the pup shrink low to the ground and finally looked to the wolf. "You...you saved us."

He nodded, but tilted his head at her. "These aren't yours?" He asked, curious as he glanced over at the other living pups. "Whose are they?" He padded up to her, sniffing at her fur, gently moving to groom the extra water off of her. She could groom this litte pup, but who would groom her?
