(Sorry. ^^ She frowned softly, drawing her ears back. Now that he was here, she wasn't sure what to do. Suddenly feeling a little awkward, she ducked her head, blushing softly. "Er..." Um... what was there to say? After a moment, she just shook her head and nuzzled into his fur, whimpering softly. "Can you just, um... stay with me a little bit?" She asked slowly. But then again... if she asked, it became a favor. He would be required to stay because she asked, not inclined to stay because he wanted to.

Magic smiled a little bit. "Sure." He looked around. Every tree, every rock was all very familiar to him. But to Sootflare it was all strange and new. She must be very confused, he realized. "Would you like to go to the stream for a drink?"

She glanced at him, ears back some. "Where's that?" She asked slowly, flicking her tail around her scarred paws. Truthfully, she was edgy around the new territory. It was... weird.

"Close. Just east of here." Magic replied. He could see the uneasiness in her eyes. He had felt uneasy about his own territory, once. When he and his father began to patrol the place to make sure Mystic and his sisters were safe Magic had begun to fear leaving the dens. But he had gotten over it quickly. "Or, if you prefer, we could go back to the dens."

She quickly shook her head. "No. Let's head to the stream. I'm thirsty anyway." And he couldn't exactly bring the water to her. So she started east-ward, tail low and ears back as she tried to memorize the territory. It would take some time, but better that than returning to Hemitite and the other Blackshadow males.

Magic led her on a short distance. The stream was about five feet across with shallow clear water. He dipped his head down and lapped up the water, grateful for it's refreshing coolness. His mother used to bring him here often when he was still young. Once he had even thought this shallow little thing deep! It hardly came up past his forelegs now. However, he had gotten his mother's long legs. "I always like this spot the best. There's a lot of life around here."

Soot trotted up to it and drew her ears back. The stream, while shallow to him, might very well come right over her ears. She was abnormally small, after all, not being allowed to grow much more than a half-grown pup's height. She leaned down after a moment and started to drink, before wrenching back, startled. After a long pause, she leaned down again and tasted. She whimpered happily and stepped into the chilly water, reveling in something most may take for granted. The facts were clear: She wasn't even used to fresh water.

Magic's ears flattened in concern. Was her life in Blackshadow so bad that she didn't even have fresh water? Magic leaned over again and began to lap up more of the water. Her life had been hard. Very hard. How long would it take for her to recover? Or would she ever recover? Magic felt sympathy for her swell in his heart. He lifted his ears again, hearing the cheerful trilling of a bird in the trees. "See what I mean? Full of life."

She glanced around, having rolled onto her back in the shallower waters so she could feel the water rush past but still watch the birds. Her tail wagged lightly, and she smiled warmly up at him. "I like the sounds here." She commented lightly, watching the bird as it flew by with something akin to fascination. The explaination for why she seemed so intrigued by so much here would probably never come to Magic. But he was right. Life as a Blackshadow was hard.

Magic smiled. "Yes...it's peaceful here. My mother generally doesn't like to hunt in this area. She thinks that it should be left alone." He shared this idea as well and usually wouldn't look for prey near the stream. Magic wagged his tail, dipped a paw into the water, and lightly splashed Soot. On warm days splash wars could be very refreshing, not to mention fun.

She yelped sharply at the splash, rolling to a sit to stare at him. She flicked her ears forward, kind of curious over what he'd done. Well... it hadn't hurt. Anything that didn't hurt was good. She grinned and rolled back over to her back again. "Do that again!" She laughed, tail wagging some. It had felt kind of nice, and made her want to giggle for some odd reason. Even if she wasn't sure why.

Magic smiled. Ah, so she'd never had a splash war! He supposed it was to be expected with her life so far. Magic slammed his two front paws into the stream, soaking his forelegs and sending a small wave of cool water at Soot. He wagged his tail and laughed. "It's called a splash war...a perfect way to beat the heat."

She giggled, rolling around in the cool wave he sent before leaping to her paws. Now thoroughly soaked, she growled playfully and aimed to pounce him, hoping that she could just roll on him when she got him pinned and make him soaked as well. The idea promised to be extremely amusing. And no one would get hurt, either. So, of course, it was good. Although 'war' and 'good'... she'd never really heard them together before.

Soot pinned succeeded in pinning Magic. He laughed. The stream water soaked his thinner spring pelt quickly. Soot was strong, for such a tiny wolf! Magic growled playfully at her and snapped harmlessly at the air beside her muzzle. He whimpered happily, grateful he could bring out the happier side of Sootflare. His eyes were full of laughter. Rather cute, really. "Oh you'll pay for that!"

It didn't last long. With what he thought might be a playful snap, Soot gave a sharp whine and fell back away from him, slipping back into the water as she curled in the shallows, ears back, tail tucked, eyes wide in fear and submission. Over Magic. Adorable little Magic. His words only made it worse, and she shrank further down into the water, shivering some as the chill of the water finally seeped past her thick coat and touched her skin. She just waited there, glued to the ground, even though she was shivering like mad and needed out of the water, crouched down. She was essentially waiting for him to act on his threat. She didn't pause to think he was joking, or playing around. She just waited, claws sunk into the rocks in the stream, eyes on him, awaiting her punishment for whatever she'd done wrong.
