Ark glanced back at her, the sun reflecting in his emerald orbs as he shrugged, "Aye, aye M'lady." he smiled as he done a mock bow with his head. "Heh, I don't think I made a good impression back there, Sweets." He smirked as he sunk his teeth into the hind leg, the blood flowing down it onto the golden grass. He yanked his head up, tearing a small sized chuck out before dropping it between his paws to nibble. He wasn't really that hungry but he didn't know when his next meal would be.
"So, why don't you tell me about you pack then? Perhaps this rival pack too? Have they got some kind of strange look? I came across wolves once, teeth as big as your nose. Anyway, do tell, Gorgeous." He smiled, awaiting her answer.

She gave him a slightly suspicious look before settling down near the head of the animal to take out the chest and shoulders. "These wolves didn't have big teeth. Not too many of them, anyway. But they've got big egos." She shrugged, nibbling at the meat as she spoke. "Mo' of 'dem are da'ker f'rr'd ma'es. No' 'oo 'rie'dy 'ugger's." She tried to manage through her food, more preoccupied with the meal than disclosing information.

Ark listened intensely while nibbling on the flesh in his mouth. His eyebrows knotting with thought. "Have you ever tried a raid?" He suddenly blurted out. His green eyes widened at his sudden outburst but he couldn't exactly take it back now, could he? "Uh... what I mean is.. teach them a lesson they won't soon forget, you know? If they're that much of a bother of course. They don't seem to have done much..." He mumbled while looking down at the lump of flesh in his paws, the blood leaking out onto the green grass, staining it crimson. He turned toward her again, smile on his face, "Now, now, Fraulein Spitfire. Is that any way to talk? Tch, tch." He smirked, using a foreign tongue that had been taught to him on his travels. {{ Just so you don't think I've left my bran somewhere, I'm learning German because its my favorite language. xD So I might spit out a few words every now and then. Fraulein = Miss}}

(Oh, German is amazing! XD I like Latin and French, which is why some of my characters speak it. XD)
Spitfire watched him, amber eyes carefully measuring his expressions and words before quickly taking the same treatment on her own to make sure she didn't say too much. "A raid wouldn't work too well. We've tried before. We were drastically outnumbered. And when I say they're a big pack, boyo, I mean it. Those of us who weren't killed were taken captive. When our patrol came, there were five of us. Two males were killed, two females were taken and I was surprisingly let go." She shrugged, watching him with even eyes. "When I returned, my pack didn't recognize me. It took several months to get the layers of my comrades' blood off me and even now, a year and a half later, I can still smell it." A chilly bite touched her last words as she turned back to her meal.
"We keep a wide berth around their territory now. Although they have stolen our pups before. And leave their half-eaten carcasses at the border." Most of this she wasn't supposed to tell to anyone outside the pack. But he ought to see what a large problem this was. That a little raid wouldn't chase them off or get them to leave them alone.

Ark listened intensely, his meal forgotten. The hairs on the back of his neck rose up as he snarled, "Those bastards." Ark absolutely loathed any type of mistreatment, due to his experiences. He also, however, learned to fight back with the help of the lions who, amazingly, took a liking toward him as a pup and helped him train. He had a talent for speaking with other animals but he barely used it.
"If I was your leader, I would be so furious. Why has he not gone for aid?" He murmured while shaking his head but then snapped it back up immediately. "I'm sorry about that. I tend to speak before thinking when I get angry. I didn't mean any ill will toward your Alpha, I'm sure he's a wonderful leader." he bit out. He wasn't exactly thrilled to have a leader, he was so used to looking out for himself it might take a bit of time to get used to.
He then stood up, stretching his hind legs and then leaning back wards to stretch much like a cat. Another thing he had picked up from the lions. "I apologize, Fraulein, but I'm afraid I've lost my appetite. I don't tend to eat that much. Wouldn't wanna row fat now, would I?" He winked while smirking at her then turned his head around the area and then, toward the sky. The sun had started to dim a little, which was either that it was sinking on the horizon or a good number of clouds had begun to drift in front of it. Rain. Fantabulous.

Spitfire watched him, eyes intent. After a long moment, she finally spoke up, and her voice the slightest hint of her accent from before, but barely enough to notice. "And what would you have us do, Ark? If you were leader?" She asked, the inquiry not a challenge, but more as though she was seeking outward advice. "We are not strong in numbers, and we are too used to peaceful times to have trained properly for fighting. Very, very few of us are physically strong or experianced in the feild." It seemed, more and more with every word, that what she was getting at was that he seemed like an experianced fighter, strong, capable of taking down others with brute strength, skill, and quick thinking...
On another note, she didn't mind the rain. In fact, she would love the dramatic effect it might cast on this here little conversation. If the sun was shining, it wouldn't exactly help, would it? Although it wouldn't help the kill they'd made - it would rot all the faster. So she leaned down and continued eating, although her searching, nearing desperate gaze was still fixed on him. Waiting for some kind of answer.

He blinked his eyes before closing them in thought. If he was a leader, hm? "If," He began, "I was the leader of this pack. Hypothetically, of course, I would send my fastest scouts to gather allies that would stand with us. Of course, its a much bigger risk to send our own wolves but you do not have he aid of birds here, do you? We sent a specific bird across the skies to send messages and word to allies in case of attack or distress." He paused to think again, his eyes still sealed shut in thought, as though imagining himself doing these things.
"However, say we did not have allies. I would look to other resources, such as the lions and other species; monkey's are especially useful with their hands. There are also other options, such as trickery and cunning. Set traps? I wouldn't know what ones to use here, as I don't know the land. But for an example, lead them into bear dens and other hostile animals? It works better than you think. Uh.. but this is hypothetically, of course, theres an extremely small chance of it happening if there are not enough fighters to defend against attacks." He finished, a little unsure if he had said too much that was 'unwolf'. Many that he had come across had thought of him as different, it was quite rare that species get along, let alone work together.

She watched him, not taking her gaze off him for a second, not even blinking. She didn't make any move towards him or away, just sitting perfectly still. After he was finished, she gave a small nod. "We have other-species-allies, of sorts. A family of golden eagles have been our scouts for years. We could request their help." She paused, thinking now herself. "There is a pack of wood lions that live near here... we usually avoid their dens to escape potential conflict, but they are there." She glanced up at him, curious. "You can speak to lions?" She questioned.

His ears flicked as a few drops of rain pelted down from the sky, only a light drizzle but the darkening clouds told worse. Wiping the water from his nose with his creamy paw, "Eagles, you say? Heh, thats a big step up from us, we didn't have predatory birds. But I'm sure they come in very useful. Eagles are high up on the food chain." He complemented, but let out a groan; his blond hair becoming damp with the rain and started to cling to his face.
He then cleared his throat at her last statement, "Mm.. I have had relations with lions in the past, their leader was an amazing fellow. Do you get on with the lions? No.. attacks or anything? It would be a major advantage to have them in allegiance with your pack. Hypothetically speaking, of course." He finished with a smile but i fell short as he tried in vain to swipe at his hair that was getting in his vision.

Seeing his irritation with the rain, she rolled her eyes and started for the trees. "Come on, big boy. I have a den near here we can rest in until the rain stops. Leave the carcass for the coyotes." She was speedily graceful on her paws now as she headed off. The den was only about a quarter-mile away, but she figured they should get there fast before the thunder and lightning began. "The lions have never attacked us, but they often warn us when we come too close. They don't seem to appreciate our kind much. But since neither of us push our luck, you could call that a bit of an allegiance. Oh, and if lions don't work, there are a ton of coyotes around here that owe us for sharing our food with them." By sharing, of course she meant they let the coyotes feast on their kill after they were finished with it.

Ark licked his lips as he jogged after her, damn that girl could move when she wanted! He listened intensely while they walked, his creamy paws thudding on the dampening grass. His emerald orbs glanced backward over his shoulder once more at the abandoned carcass before he turned back to Spitfire. He now walked so his head was just behind her shoulder, she still lead the way but he was close beside her. His thoughts buzzed around his head. 'Coyotes? Mm not the strongest of creatures but they may fare well against this rival pack if their numbers are greater.'
It was now raining a bit heavier, much to Ark's dismay. His big blackening tail swished out behind him. "D'ya get many.. wanderers like me here?" He questioned, he couldn't stand the silence for long and he referred to himself as a wanderer instead of an exile.

Noting the heavier rain, Spitfire changed course onto a much more sheltered path, where the trees thickened above them and the rain had less of a chance of getting through to them. She also made sure to start on an easy sprint. "Not usually, but occasionally. Sometimes, they stay for good, but more often, they just keep going." She shrugged, a seeming impossible feat considering the speed at which she was going. "You're the first in a while to stay long enough to talk." She winked back at him before setting all her attention on getting to her den, which was starting to become visable farther off.
What made the den was simply a fallen tree supported against a large boulder, but where behind said fallen tree, there would be an unsheltered area, thorned bushes grew, so thick, it would keep out even the rain pouring down. The opening was also semi-guarded by such plants, although they weren't as thick to allow someone to slip through, and it seemed dug out over many, many months, so that there was plenty of room for more than one wolf to sleep. Very nice.

Ark licked his lips again, 'Others eh? Wonder if I know any of them.. probably not..' he thought while his ears flicked to rid of the rain drops. He had to admire the structure of the tree's as they twisted and turned each of the branches to form a shelter type thing. He had to smirk when she winked at him, girl had nice eyes. Ark shook his fur before crawling into the den, but first, he had to glance back over his shoulder again, his emerald eyes scanning the empty tree's. The only sound was the faint patter of drops that managed to escape the branches; nothing else. It still made him uneasy, however like something was watching him. He shrugged it off for now before joining Spitfire in the den.
He had to admire the unique design of the den to, very unique indeed. He lay himself down near the rock part, quite close to the edge so he could keep an eye out. "Comfy place, Sweets. All the dens like this?" He asked, his ice blond hair starting to dry quicker. His eyes glanced back outside but, like last time, there was nothing in sight. 'Maybe its because I haven't slept in a den for so long... yes, I'm sure thats what it is.'

Spitfire was quiet, and something in her expression told she hadn't heard his question. She was merely studying him intently from the other side of the den, gaze intense. After a moment, she got again to her paws and trotted over to him, laying out beside him, lending her warmth, but not getting in his way of seeing outside. She rested her head on his shoulders, but her gaze was fixed on his face, and after a few more seconds, that gaze turned warm and reassuring as she licked his ear, but her tone was teasing and playful. "The monsters aren't gonna come in this weather, hun. At least not the ones we get. Just calm down, 'kay?" She winked, all tracing of that previous affection having disappeared. Amazing bipolar lady.

Ark snapped out of his thoughts when he felt her body lay next to his and then her playful tone speak in his ear. He immediately released a smirk, "Being a bit forward are we? Not that I mind of course, Sweetheart." Giving her a little wink of his own and then a playful lick on her cheek, effectively making her already damp fur stick upward in an ark while letting out a small chuckle. "But you are right. Just paranoid, I guess." He murmured rather distantly, his gaze once again going outside before he rested his his head on his creamy paws, his body slightly leaning toward her. It was great to have company after so long. He let his eyes slip shut but he didn't go to sleep although he could feel his grip on reality slipping. "Gute nacht, Sweets.." He murmured in case he forgot to say it later. He felt it was odd that he trusted her enough to sleep in front of her, good first impressions I suppose. (How dareth you! =O XD Thats the way to make him break the shield! Gute Nacht = Good night)
