((Since black cats = bad luck, in common belief? xD))
One thing the Alphess was starting to hate more and more were selfish, dominant males. Just as she forgave one, she had reason to hate another. Hemitite was forgiven, but mostly only because she now knew he'd helped their daughter and her family find someplace safe, after they'd been exiled... by selfish, dominant male number two. And now, she had eight pups at her belly. Eight that she frankly didn't want.
She glanced up at the opening to the den, tail lashing. A snowball had a bigger chance in hell than Donovan had coming anywhere near her at the moment. Or any moment, really. But if he did, she had a big surprise for him...

((A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere. *nodnod*))
Enter selfish dominant male number two.
Donovan approached the entrance of the den. He wasn't heartless. He want to at least make sure Sunstorm was alive in there. Though he didn't really expect to be allowed inside of the den. Hell, he was expecting to be chased away from the very entrance.

((*high-five* ^^ I do agree.))
Sun glared up at the entrace. She could smell him. But a playful, wicked grin crossed her muzzle and she let out a purr. "Come in, Donny." She invited, flicking her tail over the heap of pups at her belly. Mwahaha...

Donovan walked in, stepping cautiously. She sounded a bit too pleased with herself. Donovan peered at the pups nestled up against her belly. It had to have something to do with them...had she killed them?

Please. She nudged them, making them let out little squeaks to diminish his thought. She wouldn't punish the pups for their father. Starfrost had taught her that. "I thought you'd wanna be here for their naming." She nudged them, and started listing. "Hemitite, Mystic, Magic, Romeo, Juliet..." She glanced back at him, cold. "Any of those sound good?" Boy, did she hate him.

"Try again. I won't let our pups have those names." Donovan said, just as coldly. They were half-breeds. The rest of the pack accepted that, even Avalanche. Why couldn't Sunstorm understand that? The pups themselves looked healthy to him. But his only litter, and his only mate before Sunstorm, had died back when he was much younger. So he was a bit new at the daddy role.

"Oh, but I will." She grinned, quite amused b his cold tone, and leaned over to lick one of the cute pups. Her eyes danced as she nuzzled into them, tail wagging some. "And they're not ours. They're mine." She 'corrected', licking down one pup in particular, who had oddly spiky fur.

"So you'll really curse your pups like that?" Donovan asked, quirking an eyebrow. "When they get older and they realize their named after a bunch of filthy half-breeds? At least name them after respectable wolves that they could be PROUD of." Donovan didn't see why she wanted to the pups after them, anyways. Aside from the fact that they were banished and, most likely, dead somewhere.

"I really don't think you're in a position to talk about cursing pups." She growled, turning on him with eyes narrowed. "You condemned two to death easily enough." But no matter what he did, she still wouldn't hurt the pups in any way. Even when she spoke of naming the pups like that, she wouldn't. She'd just call them that around him to get on his nerves. She would not use them in her personal vendetta against her new mate.

"Starblood and Dandre were half-breeds, just like their mother." Donovan snarled in return. "You saw the looks of them." There wasn't any hiding who Dandre and Starblood resembled. Both pups took after their blood thirtsy Blackshadow ancestors. "There are many other wolves who would have done the same."

"Yes, and you can see all of them right across the border." He murmured coldly, but loud enough for him to hear. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you were a Blackshadow yourself!" She snapped, fur standing on end. She hoped the words dealt as much a blow as she wished.

They did. Donovan let out a snarl of outrage. "Don't you DARE call me that again." With that he padded out of the den. It seemed he'd forgotten about their previous arguement of the naming of the pups. Well, at least Sunstorm could give them real names that he was gone.

"Just keep living in denial, sweetheart." She purred, amused that she'd struck the right chord. But as she glanced down at her pups, she was struck with another problem. What could she name them? She decided she'd wait, until they could walk. Then she'd take them all right out of camp and after the rest of her family. They could give her ideas.
(I dunno what to do after this. xD)
