The soft earth caved beneath his feet as he urged himself onwards. His tongue lolled from opened jaws, eyes searching the darkness for unseen danger. Twistblood's brown pelt shimmered with sweat, his body shook from exhaustion. He knew he was in another wolfs territory, maybe even a whole packs, but he had to find acceptance somewhere. He couldn't keep running from his past, so he needed a future.
Twistblood growled, a low rumbling noise from deep in his chest, as he grew more frustrated and fatigued. Having run for...who knows how long, he was sure he had covered much ground in the past days. He needed rest, and soon, for his weakness was quickly catching up on him.
And so, it was here, in unfriendly territory, that he came to rest. Twist sighed, sinking to the ground as relief flowed through him. He knew that he would not rest here long without being noticed, but he would try to make the most of it, as he could run no more.

A loud yawn split the air as the young Alpha stretched out along the ground. Nice nap, that was. His mind and instincts told him that night, however, was not a time for sleeping, but hunting, fighting, playing... and chasing out strangers. And at this moment, the thousands of shadows that bred in the night whispered tales to his ears about new paws on his land.
Oblivion made his way, with no rush, closer, carefully tracking the intruder not by scent, sound, or anything natural, but by the whispers of darkness that grew louder and louder when he got closer. They were never clear, of course, but they were enough for him to identify the newcomer as male, and tired from running a long ways. Good. If things came to a fight, maybe this time, the yearling Alpha could fight him off without need for brutal powers.
Once he was close enough to see the brown wolf, he dropped to a sit, observing him from afar. He was close enough that the male could easily pick up his scent, but far enough away that, if the stranger had the energy, it would be spent on rushing to the white wolf instead of attacking him. Once he was in reach, Oblivion could take the rest of that energy with a death blow, if it came to it. But right now, such harsh war tactics were not on his mind. Instead, he pondered on how the male had gotten in. Perhaps there was a leak in the thorn wall someplace...

Twistblood looked up, glancing over his shoulder with tired eyes. Shaking his head, his eyes widened and he jumped to his feet. "Uh-oh." He quickly looked up and down the other wolf, thoughts a wild whirr as he tried to recollect himself. This must be his territory... He finally thought, before his ears perked up again. Maybe there's a whole pack here! Twist gave a sort of half-smile as he once again looked to the other wolf. "I'm sorry for intruding." He murmured, eyebrows slanted apologetically. "I, uh, just happened to be passing through here is all. I mean, I'm not looking for a fight or anything, I'll go peacefully." He contemplated turning his back on the other, but thought better of it. Instead, he crouched slightly, his smile fading. "But, if you attack me while I turn a blind eye, I'll fight you back. Just because I'm tired and probably look lie crowfood doesn't mean I don't have the strength to take you on."
Maybe he'll let me join his pack! He thought, still watching warily. That is, if he even has one..But, if he does, doesn't mean I can't try. Still tense, he rose slightly and looked the other wolf in the eye. "Are you an Alpha of a pack that resides in this territory? If so, may I join you?" He began to chastise himself through thought as he continued. "I'm a quick runner, a strong hunter, and good in fights! I can offer alot to your pack!"

Oblivion watched the stranger, listening to every word, looking over each phrasing carefully, looking for a way this wolf could be trying to connive him into something. After a moment, a grin, slight, but still visible, came to his maw. No, not a cheat. Just amusing.
The white wolf got up full and paced closer, unafriad and with chin and tail held high, blue eyes gleaming as he looked over the male. So he did seem a fast runner, a good enough fighter... capable, confident enough, but maybe too much so... he didn't know enough yet. Time for a verbal survey.
"I'm Alpha, yeah. But why would you want to join my pack? Just looking for a random place to stay?"
The challenge was simple, easy, and flowed from his lips flawlessly, without hesitation. He had practice, what could he say?

Twistblood grimaced, eyes narrowed as he looked over at the Alpha. "No, not entirely. Though it is true I've nowhere to stay, that is not the reason I ask. I lost my pack to other wolves, and now travel alone." He raised his chin to look somewhat defiant, before continuing. "I wish to give my service to a pack, any pack, just so I can feel useful. Traveling alone does not suit me well, and I wish to return to pack life."
Finishing, he looked downward again. "So, I wish to join your pack, if you'll accept me. I am sure that, if you do, I will not let you down and work to the best of my ability."

Oblivion quirked an eyebrow, instinct telling him to give a warning snarl at the stranger's raised head, but he didn't. Instead, he continued to listen, and when the brown male was finished, he commented again.
"The best of your ability may not be enough. But sure. How about I let you in for a couple days, and you tell me how you like it, alright? It may take some time to adapt..."
His tone turned almost wicked at the end, and as he stood to his paws again, he motioned with his head to gesture the stranger, his new possible member, up as well.
"You can come with me as I finish up my patrol, then we'll head back and you can meet a few other members..."

The brown pelted male grinned as he rose to his feet. "Sounds good to me." He said, eyes bright as he paced towards Oblivion, his new possible alpha, to stand beside him. Twistblood smiled, surprised as he felt some of the weariness leave his bones. "Where are we headed?" He inquired, turning to look at him somewhat obediently.

The white yearling looked back at him with raised eyebrow before trotting off at a fast-paced jog, but not quite a run. "That's for me to know, and you to find out. Name's Oblivion, by the way." He added as an afterthought. He never much liked introductions, but they were sadly neccesary. Hated saying his own name... But he always loved hearing others say theirs. "I didn't catch yours, however..."

The wolf nodded, flowing behind as he heard Oblivion's name. "Twistblood." He replied, looking up at the sky as he trotted after him. "Twist for short." He added, hating to use his full name. He followed silently, glancing up at the path ahead every so often.

"Do you mind Twister?" Oblivion asked, tail flicking occasionally, almost like it was debating on whether or not to wag. He kept his head high and would look around occasionally to check the area. "And if you don't mind, also, could you list off, maybe some good strengths of yours?"

"Twister is fine." Twist replied, grinning as he trotted close behind. "Hmm. I have quite good eyes, I'm quick on my feet, and can quite easily run for long distances over lengths of time. I'm a decent hunter and scout, as these were my jobs in my last pack, and can be quite good with strategies." He murmured, rattling off every little thing about him that came to mind.

Oblivion was silent, thoughtful, for a long moment before speaking. "Then if you're accepted, you may yet become a scout again." He said, glancing back at Twistblood with amused blue eyes.

Twistblood's tail gave a short flick as he grinned. Going back to his old post was definitely a good idea. But that all depended upon whether he was accepted into the pack or not.

It may take a while, but after a few minutes, the trees got denser, and the land overall became greener. Vines shot up the trunks of trees and sprawled across the ground, over grass that was so long, they brushed a normal wolf's chest. Oblivion grinned, tail wagging some at the new sight. The canopy of trees brushed lower, though, making it almost like a cave made from the forest itself. Nice.

"Wow.." Twist gasped, breathless, as he looked around the clearing. "This is fantastic!" He breathed, eyes wide as he wandered back and forth. "Crazy and beautiful!"
