The female that strode across the border was out of place in this dark-feeling lands. Perhaps it was the fact that she actually walked across the boundary line like it wasn't there. Or maybe it was because of those clashing fire colors she wore like a shining cloak; she was just too bright to fit in to the dark scenery. Of course, it could've also been from the jovial smile crossing her slender muzzle. Yes, jovial. That was definitely what was keeping her atypical...
She was quite obviously of red wolf descent, both from her small size and her quirky coloring. Most of her thick pelt was a strange red color, almost blood but not quite there, more natural. Her shoulders and flanks were decorated with gold, matching the stripe that stretched from her shoulder marking to that saddling her haunches. Her forelegs were white up to her knees and rippled in a line, producing a few dots scattered above like it had run out of paint to get higher. Her back legs were marked by white only on the toes, giving her an unbalanced look. Like she had stepped halfway into a white river before drawing herself out. The underside of her throat and the bottom of her chin was a light vanilla, while the underside of the huge, fluffy tail she carried was a fine caramel.
Huge eyes characterized her slim face. The pupils were wide, but it was the color of the iris that really nabbed the attention. A definitely unusual light green color, the shade of green one first thinks of when spring comes to mind. Large ears perched on top of her skull were comfortably forward as she wandered further into the unfamiliar territory without a hint of discomfort.
First off, she must be either lost or stupid. Thanks, but no thanks. Vixen Whiteland, for that was the femme's full name, was looking for a place to stay. These lands she was currently meandering about were the ones she had admired the most, and although she had heard bad things, alright, downright terrible things about it, she'd shrugged it off. Didn't matter much to Vixy. What she wanted was a place for a while, not somewhere that everyone was constantly cheerful. She got enough of that while in her sister's company.
So she had strayed here trying to find the alpha of these parts. She'd even settle for those two directly beneath him, whatever their names were; as long as she could get someone to say yes to her request, it really didn't bug her who it was. Simple thoughts make simple solutions, loves.

You know, the Alpha of these lands must have some built in alarm clock that told him when someone not of his pack stepped over his borders. Pitch black ears flicked and the massive grey wolf lifted his slender skull, blood-red eyes narrowing.
Now, take into account that when we say massive, we damn well mean it. There was no larger wolf anywhere near here, that was for sure. When he stood, huge paws silent against the stone that was his perch, he stood a full four feet, almost eleven inches tall. Back when they still existed, there were some grown humans smaller than him.
Bleaknight Blackshadow leapt from his stony perch, treading silently along the ground and toward the border, barely a quarter of a mile away. It would not take long to get there. He wasn't worried.
This male's pelt was decorated with varying shades of grey; from a dark hue spreading most of his pelt to the lighter shade (though on this dark wolf, 'lighter' wasn't saying much) crossing his chest, belly and undertail, and dipped his paws. His back was spread with black, and his eyes were hidden under patches of the same darkness. And under that layer lay two irises, glowing in the black. Red as the freshly-spilled blood that daily soaked his paws.
Bleaknight paused a distance from the female, taking a seat against the lush ground, eyes surveying her for the time. If she addressed him, then he'd take up this matter. But for now, he remained silent. Watching.

Can someone say creepy? The prickling sensation that rose the hair on the back of her neck made Vixen stop, one foreleg partially raised, and slowly her eyes narrowed. She drew her ears into a more alert location, flicking them sideways, before abruptly she swung her head around to peer directly where Bleaknight was seated.
Maybe this wasn't the usual reaction, but immediately a graceful grin appeared on the female's maw and she padded over to him, figuring he wasn't coming closer. She moved lightly, like she was continuously in a hunter's gait. Where this alpha stepped heavy, like a lumbering bear, she was venturing more to cats with her near dainty step.
When she was close enough to see his startling gaze only did Vixen stop. She kept her genuine smile as she dipped her head down, performing an odd sort of bow before straightening, those odd light green eyes flashing in something akin to mirth. "Hello, hello, love. I take it you're the famous alpha of these parts?" She couldn't help the nickname, she honestly couldn't; it rolled off her tongue like it belonged there, and considering she'd used it her entire life, it sort of did. Her voice was just as light and cheery as her pace, and she cocked her head innocent enough, the huge eyes and the matching huge ears making her seem even more harmless. Puh. Yeah right.

In Bleaknight's crimson gaze, this female was much too confidant. That would soon change, with his... counsel. The massive male stood once more, pacing up to face her more directly. "Famous? Really? I didn't realize." Like hell he didn't; that reputation had been going around for more than ten thousand years. But this little femme didn't know that. And he wasn't about to tell her.

When he stood, she had to admit she paused for a second just to look. He really was gigantic. And compared to her tiny size... even bigger. She blinked her wide eyes, forced to tilt her head back to fully see him, but kept that bright-eyed smile. No, not confident, just damn happy.
With his words, she nodded, flicking her raccoon-like tail once as she replied. "Yup. Downright famous, actually. Everytime I asked around you were actually the first alpha to come up." She shrugged, tone still light. There's a difference between being scared and being wary and she was halfway there merely studying his mass. This promised to be quite fun.

Bleaknight grinned, proud of himself for at least establishing his massive size. Insert evil laughter here. When she continued talking, his grin merely widened. "Oh, really? What did they say about me?" He asked, voice seething with wicked intent.

She shrugged her narrow shoulders, thinking back to some specific comments she'd gotten about him. "Well, this one rogue was just babbling on about you, something like; 'He's evil, he's evil! Stay away!!!' But I personally think he was a hair crazy." Vixy flashed a happy, utterly cheerful smile.
After a moment, she spoke again, keeping that total innocent grin. "Then this other dude was rattling about how you were the cruelest wolf in the lands and whatnot, but hey." Her eyes flashed in mischief. "I think your territory is pretty. What can I say."

Somehow, those words about his reputation made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside... Bleaknight grinned ven wider, if it was possible, and let out a chuckle. "Shame. My name seems to have gone down the drain a bit." No kidding. 'Evil'? Please.

She rolled one of those perfectly undecipherable shrugs again. "I have no idea what to tell you. Nobody in these lands seem very creative these days. Sorry, love, if their opinions insulted you." Vixen apologized formally, though her unusual light green eyes were still very openly amused.

Bleaknight let out a sigh, almost pathetic in nature, before glancing down at her with fake hope in his eyes. "Well, what's your opinion on the matter? Besides that you think my lands are nice enough and your sources are lacking in creativity?"

She blinked wide eyes at him, slim head slightly tilted. "My opinion on your level of cruelty?" She paused, without waiting for an answer, before shrugging. "Well, there are two kinds of cruelty to me, and so far, you've displayed neither. I don't know you too well, so I can't stake a personal gamble on how 'evil' you are, and I'm not stupid enough to just think you aren't." Another shrug before she continued on. "So, I suppose you're probably rather pyschotic in your own nature and enjoy torture and gore and explosions of bodies, but I don't really know." So there.

Wow. What an... honest statement. And stupid. "Explosions of bodies isn't my thing, actually, and neither is gore, though I can't say much about the torture thing..." He mused aloud, eyes thoughtfully surveying the sky. Beat her honest statement with his own. Hey, lying wouldn't do him any good, really.

Let's get something straight. Vixen and her two siblings had been abandoned when they were six months old. They'd had to trudge through hell. Explosions of bodies and disgusting gore had been something Vixen had seen plenty of in her life.
At his words, however, she only cracked a wider grin. "Goody. Then you'll definitely like me if you like torture." She said cheerfully. Nope, not confidently though; there wasn't that note of arrogance in her tone. More like... hinting him. That she was useful, really.

Let's get another thing straight; Bleaknight didn't like a lot of blood. If he could help it, poison was what he went for. He didn't approve of lots of body parts mixed around unless he felt the need to be terribly gorey. So ha.
"I could use a new victim." Bleaknight gave his answer smoothly, voice smooth and eyes alit as he looked right back at her. Evil.

On the other hand... Vixen just rolled her her light green eyes. "I don't mean that way, love. I mean I could be useful. I'm sort of like a breathing poison." She shrugged, though now her grin was pulling towards wickedly amused. "I don't care much for being a victim. It really isn't that fun."
