Romeo was already reaching to grab the kill, about to speak to Forest when he quickly scolded himself. Still couldn't speak quite yet. He'd forgotten. He flicked his tail to Mystic to help him with the kill, looking around to get the other adult's help when he noticed Sol was no longer there. The long-legged male had disappeared somewhere. Not really caring much in the first place and secretely hoping the other got in trouble, Romeo shrugged it off and moved to drag the kill back to the den.
Starfrost was waiting when the others would get back. He was deeply frowning, with Sol laying at his side. The ancient wolf had come to him and explained how he'd cheated, just explaining that he'd broken the rules in speaking during the hunt. He was given points for honesty, but action still needed to be taken. The Alpha was just waiting for the rest of the hunting party to return to explain what he would do concerning the situation.

Forest noticed how Sol had vanished. A lump made of pure dread arose in her throat. Mystic licked her hceek and looked at her questioningly. Forest ignored her mother and began helping the others drag the catch back.
When they returned to see Sol with Starfrost, Forest knew what she would do. If Starfrost wanted to punish all three of them for her crime, Forest would just have to beg for him to only punish her. Magic and Juliet look hopefully at the Alpha, hoping that he approved. Forest kept her head low as she waited.

Starfrost frowned softly at her, drawing his ears back as he stood. "The three pups haved passed and are henceforth full adults. They did wonderful in their hunt, and have brought the pack fresh food that should last a while." He smiled, rather warmly at the three, but there was still that faint sadness in his eyes, and he contiued, the smile faded. "But the outsider who was challenged along with the hunt has been demoted for cheating on the hunt. As Omega, Sol is no longer allowed near the dens, and must live near the border until he has proven himself worthy to be a full member." With the final word, he gave a nod to the three pups to allow the success howl to sound. It would need to before Mystic or Romeo were allowed to speak again.
Sol, meanwhile, leapt off the den and headed into the deeper woods, tail tucked and ears back, entirely submissive and completely different from the more confident wolf who had saved Magic's life a year before. He had made sure that Starfrost knew not to blame the pups for what had happened, instead taking the penalty himself. It worked out well, actually.

Magic and Juliet looked curiously at Sol as he left, but were quick side-tracked by one teeny fact: They were adults now! The two threw back their heads in howls of joy and pride. Forest watched Sol leave, feeling somewhat guilty that he'd taken the entire punishment. But not even Sol's banishment from the dens could dampen this moment. Forestheart joined her brother and sister in their truimphant howls.
Mystic's chest swelled with pride Her three pups were grown adults now! But she couldn't help wonder: How had Sol cheated? He had never spoken a word throughout the entire hunt, especially to one of the pups.

Romeo grinned, tail wagging in pride. He leaned over and licked his mate's cheek, again, not caring at all for what happened to Sol. He would be the only one to know how the other had cheated, and was the only one that had no care whatsoever over it. Instead, he just waited for the howl to be done so he could speak with his pups and congratulate them.

The howl finished and Magic nuzzled his sisters happily. Juliet playfully shoved her siblings and Forest just smiled sheepishly and wagged her tail. Mystic licked Romeo's snout in return, then grinned at her pups.
"Congratulations!" Mystic said. She showered her pups with licks, a trait she must have inheirted from her mother. "I'm so proud of you three!"

Romeo nuzzled all three lovingly, tail wagging. "You did it! And no one could've done it better!" He praised, using his paws to try and curl them all into one big pile so he could nuzzle them all at once. He wasn't going to tell them how worried he was that they couldn't pull it off. All they needed to know was he was proud of them right now.
Off into the distance, right at the edge of the trees, Sol watched, ears back and thoroughly depressed. He wanted to be there too, in that adorable little family. But he just sighed, scuffing the ground with one paw and slowly turning away, back to the border where he'd have to stay.

Magic laughed, his tail wagging. He nuzzled his father in return. He licked his sister's cheeks and whimpered happily. He was so proud of himself and of his sisters! Forest and Juliet had been wonderful. Forest had chosen the correct target and tracked the deer so well. Juliet had found the perfect ambush sight and attacked without hesitation.
"Maybe now that we're out of your fur, you and Mother can finally give me a brother!" Magic teased his father playfully. Juliet and Forest laughed.

Romeo blushed, ducking his head some, before glancing at Mystic. "Maybe." He added, before standing. "But for now, I'm going back to sleep. I'm tired." He grinned rather sheepishly and retreated to the dens, disappearing into the dark. "You guys have a good meal!"

Enjoy their meal they did. Mystic let them eat first, despite being above them as far as rank was concerned. Might as well let them enjoy it fully. The three ripped into their catch, bloodying the grass. Only after the three seemed to have gotten their fill did she move in to eat.
Forest licked her lips. After making sure no one was looking, she grabbed a piece of meat and carried it off. If anyone did see her they would probably think she just wanted to be alone and eat for a few moments. It was certainly in her nature. Forest would occasionally disappear to go off and simply think.

Off by the border, Sol could smell little Forest. The meat she had didn't interest him, but worried for her safety, he crept back to make sure she was okay. Maybe one of her siblings had let something mean slip. He was drastically worried for the little female - shy as she was, she seemed almost fragile in the ancient wolf's mind. He didn't want to see her broken, in any way.

Forest found Sol easily. With those tracking skills of hers, no one could be missing for long. Though he seemed to have found her at the same time. Forest set the meat down and bowed her head respectfully. Even if he was nothing more than an outsider here, she knew just how old and wise Sol was. Forest nudged the meat towards him. "I...I brought this. For you. I...I wanted to thank you for bearing the brunt of the punishment." She sat down. She was a perfect blend of her mother and father. Dainty and yet stern at the same time. "But...you should not have. I was at fault. I should have ignored any advice."

Sol paused, watching her quietly. "It doesn't matter now." He sighed and lay down, pulling the meat to his chest. "You ate?" He glanced up, quickly pushing the meat back in case she hadn't. He didn't have a right to eat before the Alpha's granddaughter, and besides that, his family was skilled in the ways of lasting long periods of time without eating. He could go without a few more days if need be.

"Huh?" Forest kept forgetting that out of the two of them, she had a higher rank. She was also slightly above her siblings, despite the fact Magic and Juliet had been born first. Her tracking skills were the cause for that. "Oh, yes." Forest didn't believe she deserved to be higher than Sol. He was thousands of years old with tons of experince and wisdom. And here she was, barely an adult wolf who had a good rank mostly due to the fact that her mother's father was the Alpha.

He frowned softly at her, leaning down and eating the meat quietly though. It was gone pretty quick, since he felt uncomfortable with her just standing there, and after he was done, he glanced up at her again. "I'm sorry." He almost whimpered, ears back. "I could've ruined you and your siblings' ceremony."
